morning eyes

fresh sunlight reflecting off of your hair & coming from the window at the head of your bed where God's greatest visions enter among those slumbered hours

restless at first, flickering like the tears of yesterday or adventure of tomorrow, then studying--& me too

every slender line down your back & along your waist

every light brown hair along your fragile figured arms

every curve & twist along your chest up to your face

smiling, teasing

the physical revelation of love

above all of this: your eyes tell a tall tale, contain a forgotten universe, & renew some ancient burning desire within me
